Sensing Fiber for Enhance DAS

1.Basic principles and production process
The intrinsic type Φ - OTDR is based on Rayleigh scattering signals for interferometric measurement, so useful vibration signals must be extracted from the complex Rayleigh signals, which increases the complexity of the problem from both electronic circuit and software perspectives, and its dynamic range is relatively narrow. To overcome this problem, our company periodically etches a grating with a reflectivity of 0.01% on the optical fiber that can reflect detection light (1550.12nm), forming a DAS enhanced sensing fiber. The adjacent grating points of the sensing fiber clock serve as stable reflection interference sources, thereby distinguishing vibration signals from the complex Rayleigh scattering and greatly improving signal-to-noise ratio, dynamic monitoring range, and distance.
